Adding to and maintaining a zettelkasten is a longterm ongoing process, one that works best when done a little bit each day. Over a period of years - sometimes many many years - the zettelkasten grows into something that is much greater than when it originally started. You don't get the long term benefits of a zettelkasten overnight.
Eventually, you have a database of wisdom - interconnected and applicable knowledge.
