In permaculture, there is a core principle that states "the problem is the opportunity."
The idea here is that no garden will ever be on the perfect plot, and so we should use the problems with the garden location/temperature/wetness/etc. as an opportunity to design a clever solution that takes advantage of those problems.
Nature works in this opportunistic way, making sure every area of ground serves a purpose no matter how unappealing that piece of ground is.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, it's important to take advantage ( -(Growing Up Unschooling with Jayn Coburn #citation)) of every opportunity you have. Nature also does this, so aligning yourself with that system makes sense.
