I've, at times, been confused about who I should pray to depending on who I feel like I'm actually addressing. I've always felt it was important to only pray to God, but soemtimes I'd be asking for specific helpfrom the Spirit, or maybe felt a strong friendship with Christ.
According to Bruce R. McKonkie, this is not appropriate. The glory and power belongs to God. To shift that power to someone else in the Godhead is just not okay.
Just focus all prayers in the direction of God, and you'll be good.
