Notes

Super Mario bros. started the love of games. But it was Mario Paint that showed him that he could use computers to create content rather than just consume.

Used that perspective to become a programmer.

3 factors that lead to games becoming so popular recently:

1. Accessibility - the wii made old people play games
2. Mobile apps - made investing in a console to play games not a barrier
3. Ease of creation - app stores and creation tools lower the barrier of entry

Because all games are digital, they can release an mvp and build from there.

New Mario Kart mobile game downloaded 20 million times on its first day. That's half super Mario's total NES sales in 1 day.

Games are part of the big boys. Film, music, games.
