Nelson, R. M. [The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints]. (2011, November 18). Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them [Video File]. Retrieved from https://youtu.be/EMwKxmTLaCs
Elder Russell M. Nelson shares a personal story to give encouragement for when we feel "weak in the heart."
[0:00] Was in a small airplane and the engine exploded. Plane started diving toward the earth to their deaths.
[0:30] I was calm. I was totally calm even though I knew I was [going to die][1]. They didn't die, the pilot got control and emergency landed.
[0:55] If you've got faith, you can handle difficulties. With an eternal perspective, all will be well.
[1:05] [Luke 21:25-26][2] - "Men's hearts failing them" - In the latter-days, we'll be afraid because we've forgotten our identity and our purpose.
[2:10] To the individual who is weak/fearful in the heart, be patient with yourself. Perfection doesn't come in this life, it comes in the next. Don't demand perfection (that's unreasonable). Demand improvement.
[2:40] The Lord will help you make up the difference.
[2:55] I'm so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that allows me that kind of strength in these tumultuous times.
